Spring 2023

We provide our initial thoughts on the new UK Data Protection Bill and details of the ICO’s new guidance on AI and data protection . We also review a recent European judgement on conflicts of interest in relation to appointing a DPO , and offer some tips on how employers can handle the use of private messaging apps in the workplac e. Finally, as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite, we analyse the balance between cost savings and privacy for energy suppliers .

Winter 2022

In this bumper issue, we summarise the direction that UK data protection legislation is now taking , after numerous twists and turns. We also consider the biggest enforcement action stories of the year - and how businesses can optimise their own data protection setup. We conclude with a wide-ranging update on fresh guidance from the ICO , including the all-important developments with international data transfers , which we know will affect many of our clients.
